How to Find Your IPTV MAC Address – Full Device & App Guide

SharkTV Help Centre - How to Find Your IPTV MAC Address
For SharkTV Stalker Portal Activation: A physical network MAC (Ethernet/Wi-Fi), a virtual IPTV portal MAC, and an application activation ID are different identifiers. If you are activating a SharkTV Stalker IPTV portal package, you must provide the exact MAC requested by that portal. Detailed model-specific paths and troubleshooting instructions are provided below.

MAG Box — Find Your IPTV MAC Address

Quick Instructions

  1. Press SETUP or SET on your MAG remote (or click the Settings gear icon on the main home screen).
  2. Navigate to System Settings → Device Info (or Device Information).
  3. Locate MAC Address. Copy all 12 hexadecimal characters, organized as 6 colon-separated pairs (e.g., 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX).
  4. If your box cannot boot to the menu, check the white barcode label affixed to the underside of the MAG chassis.
Infomir IEEE Standard: Genuine Infomir MAG boxes almost universally feature MAC addresses beginning with the registered manufacturer OUI 00:1A:79. Always copy the full address including leading zeroes.

MAG / Infomir — Model & Firmware Breakdown

Instructions differ between classic Linux firmware, modern Linux/RDK, and Android TV MAG models:

Linux MAG540, MAG544 and MAG540w3 / RDK Models

On modern MAG 540 / 544 series running Infomir's Ministra/Linux OS, check the factory label on the underside first. From the home screen, select Settings → System Settings → Device Information. On models with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet interfaces, make sure to report the Ethernet MAC (or the interface connected to your internet router) when registering your Stalker portal.

Android TV MAG Boxes (MAG500A, MAG520, MAG524, MAG555)

Android-powered MAG units use Google TV or AOSP interfaces. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Status, or Settings → Device Preferences → About → Status → MAC Address. If you are using an internal Ministra/Stalker client application, verify whether the app presents an emulated virtual MAC or uses the hardware MAC.

Legacy Linux MAG Models (MAG 250, 254, 256, 322, 324, 349, 351, 410)

Classic MAG boxes boot into the Inner Portal. Press SET / SETUP on your remote. Select System Settings → Device Info. Look for the MAC Address row. You can also inspect the factory label beneath the box.

MAG Box: 10 Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the MAC address physically printed on a MAG 254 or MAG 322?

Turn the device upside down. You will find a white label with barcodes. The MAC address is printed beside or beneath the primary barcode, starting with 00:1A:79.

Why does my MAG box display "STB Blocked" or "Your STB is not supported"?

This message occurs when the Stalker middleware server does not recognize the MAC address sent by your MAG box. This happens if the MAC was mistyped during order activation, if your subscription expired, or if you changed between Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet without updating the portal record.

Can I find the MAG MAC address if I don't have the remote control?

Yes. Simply read the printed MAC address from the manufacturer barcode label underneath the box. If the print is small, take a clear photo with your smartphone camera and zoom in.

Does a factory reset alter my MAG box MAC address?

No. The MAC address is permanently burned into the physical network interface controller (NIC) hardware at the factory. However, a factory reset will erase your portal URL and network configuration, requiring re-entry.

Should I register the Ethernet MAC or the Wi-Fi MAC?

Most IPTV middleware portals authorize the primary Ethernet MAC printed on the case label. If your MAG box connects exclusively via built-in Wi-Fi and the inner portal reports a different Wi-Fi MAC, provide the Ethernet MAC first or notify support of both.

Why is the prefix 00:1A:79 so common on MAG boxes?

00:1A:79 is the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) assigned to Infomir by the IEEE Standards Association. All genuine Infomir-manufactured hardware begins with this sequence.

What should I do if my MAG portal gets stuck on the loading bar?

Check that your portal URL is typed accurately in System Settings → Servers → Portals. Verify that your internet connection is active, reboot your modem/router, and confirm with SharkTV that your MAC address is marked active on the server.

Is a username and password required when using a MAG box on Stalker?

No. Stalker portal authentication is hardware-based (MAC address authorization). Once your MAC address is activated on the SharkTV server, the portal loads your channels automatically without requiring Xtream username and password credentials.

How do I reboot into the MAG BIOS / Bootloader menu?

Unplug the power cord. While holding the Menu button on the remote (facing the front infrared receiver), plug the power cord back in until the blue BIOS/boot screen appears.

Can I run two MAG boxes on a single MAC subscription simultaneously?

No. Stalker portal lines are strictly single-device active connections locked to one MAC. Running two devices on the same MAC causes an immediate conflict, freezing, and account lockout.

MAC Address Basics for SharkTV IPTV Setup

A media access control (MAC) address is a unique 12-character identifier assigned to a network interface or emulated by specialized IPTV middleware. When activating a Stalker portal service, always provide the exact identifier requested by the portal rather than an unverified Wi-Fi address.
